The end of the extension has a spring-loaded pin detent that locks into the through hole on a socket, offering a secure connection. This extension works with through-hole, friction ring, and detent pin anvils. The ring groove supports use with retaining rings, the smooth walls support use with friction rings, and the through hole supports use with retaining pins. All of our 3/4 inch drive sockets, extensions, adapters, and reducers are made out of 4140 steel and have a corrosion-resistant manganese phosphate coating.
