The joint rotates smoothly and continuously at up to a 30-degree angle. Our ball-and-socket-style joint is stronger than joints that use pins. The 6-sided ball operates more smoothly than 4-lug designs. The universal joint comes pre-lubricated with SuperLube Multi-Purpose Synthetic Grease (NLGI 2) with Syncolon® (PTFE). Maintain the lubrication using this grease or a comparable grease as needed to reduce wear over time. The universal joint works with both friction ring and detent pin anvils. Smooth walls without grooves support friction ring engagement, and a detent pin hole on one side allows you to decide whether to engage the pin. Part by part, we choose the best combination of steel alloys, heat treating specifications, and forming processes to meet the highest performance requirements. This universal joint has a corrosion-resistant manganese phosphate coating.
